Truck Dock Shelters for Weather Protection and Energy-Efficient Loading Docks
Dock Shelters create a protective seal between trailers and building openings, helping facilities reduce energy loss while protecting personnel, products, and equipment during loading and unloading operations. Designed for dock doors up to 10 feet wide by 10 feet high, these heavy-duty loading dock shelters effectively reduce oversized door openings to better match trailer dimensions. The result is improved environmental control, reduced heating and cooling costs, and a safer, more productive loading dock.
Key Features & Benefits
Built for long-term industrial use, these dock shelters feature durable abrasion-resistant fabric designed to withstand repeated trailer impacts and daily dock traffic. Fiberglass-reinforced flaps flex inward as trailers enter, creating a reliable seal along the top and sides of the vehicle. Foam-filled corner draft pads provide additional sealing performance, while integrated air tunnels allow controlled compression during trailer contact. A rugged treated lumber support structure, steel guide protectors, and included mounting hardware simplify installation and deliver dependable service in demanding warehouse and distribution environments.
Applications
Ideal for warehouses, manufacturing facilities, distribution centers, cold storage operations, and shipping terminals, these trailer dock shelters help minimize weather infiltration, improve employee comfort, and protect inventory from rain, wind, dust, and debris. Their design accommodates a variety of trailer sizes while maintaining effective dock sealing performance when proper trailer penetration is achieved.
Configurations & Options
Multiple projection depths are available to suit different dock layouts and trailer approaches. Optional upgrades include armor pleats for enhanced wear resistance, heavier-duty fabric facings, sloped verticals, extended headers, bottom bun seals, additional flap configurations, and repair kits. These options allow distributors and facility managers to customize a dock shelter solution that matches operational requirements while maximizing dock protection and energy efficiency. The long wear fabric is highly resistant to abrasion and tearing. Fiberglass staves are sewn into the flaps. Seal is formed along the sides and top of trailer when the vertical and top panels are pushed inward by the trailer. Recommend minimum 10" trailer penetration for a good seal. Supporting structure is made of 2" x 4" wolmanized lumber. The top header piece measures 132"W and contains a drop curtain which measures 36"H. Two vertical pieces measure 126" tall with vertical flaps measuring 21"W. When installed, the shelter will close the door opening down to 90"W x 90"H (between flaps). Includes two yellow steel guide protectors and foam-filled corner draft protector pads for extra sealing action. Units are non-returnable.
